A Japanese interior designer in Tokyo, who prefers to remain anonymous, told CNN she has worked as a full-time interior designer since 2014, but says her job has changed significantly since that time.
Her first job was as a commercial interior designer for a Japanese cosmetics company, she said.
Now, she’s looking to find a more “artistic” job, where she can create work that is “authentic” for Japanese clients, rather than relying on cheap kits and kitschy elements.
“The work is not just for decoration but for a better experience,” she said, adding that her job is not as glamorous as the ones she’s used to doing in the States.
The job is different in Japan because the country’s government is more supportive of artisans and design, which is reflected in the Japanese interior designs.
A lot of the Japanese companies, like Sushi King, have created their own brands, while others have chosen to take on a more corporate style.
Japanese interior designers have found their niche in this niche, and are looking for a job that can keep them in the game, said a spokesperson for the Japanese industry group that represents interior designers.
The spokesperson also said that the number of interior design jobs in Japan has been steadily rising in recent years, but there is still a need for more.
“I think this is something that we need to address,” she told CNN.
The industry group for interior designers in Japan said that its members believe the most important factor for a company looking to expand its business is to find the right people to work with.
“Our members feel that interior designers need to be more connected with their clients,” the spokesperson said.
For now, the main job candidates are not only architects but designers as well, as they are the ones who are expected to create the final product.
This could be a problem in Japan, where people who work as interior designers are often forced to wear a certain amount of makeup.
“People are afraid of making mistakes, so they can’t see the results that can be achieved through proper work,” the spokeswoman said.
“They just want to be paid for their efforts.”
But the industry’s president said that she was confident that interior design could find its way back into the Japanese market, especially after years of being out of fashion in the United States.
“This is something the industry has been working on for a long time,” she added.
